New Year!!
Why is it we have to have a New Year's resolution?
I have always tried to figure out what the meaning and the purpose is behind this. I always say I am going to make a New Year's resolution and I never do. I hear of all these people doing this an in a month after the Newness wears off from the new year people give up, things are forgotten and the regular routine is back in place.
I have no desire to put that much pressure on myself to have to make this goal. I feel like I would be failing if something was to get in the way of my progress. I guess you would call it lazy but I don't want to be disappointed if I do not succeed. Maybe I set to great of expectations for the reality of the resolution to manifest itself.
I defiantly want to loose weight but I cant seem to get motivated and I don't think a resolution will put a fire under my butt. I will have to have something catastrophic to happen to make me want to change. I do have to say I am going to start slow and change my eating habits and then I will get the exercise routine in place. Baby steps are what it is going to take for me to put in a change.

Christmas
How many times have you been shopping at the store and before you know it is Halloween. Well this year I went to the store to purchase my son's Halloween costumes and right around the corner they had Christmas decorations out. I could not believe what I was seeing. Why do the retailers have to push Christmas on us earlier and earlier every year. It seems like just as school starts, and Halloween comes they can't wait for the holidays to start. Then when Halloween is over it isn't even a day and they have all the isles filled with Christmas decorations and toys galore. I always love to get everything going after Thanksgiving, and this year Christmas music started on the radio even before The turkey is even in the oven. Pretty soon we will be celebrating Christmas all year long, Ugh. Don't get me wrong I like the Holidays but to bring it all on so early. I think that the holidays are all just about the all mighty dollar, not about what the real meaning of Christmas is all about.
I like getting presents for my children, but how do you teach them the meaning of Christmas with out all that added stress of purchasing gifts for everyone in the family? I hate to shell out all the extra money for gifts for my children as well as all my family members. I don't even want anything for myself and I am getting to the point of not liking the Holidays.
Please lets take the time to remember what the meaning of Christmas is and the vision of giving. Lets spend time with our families and friends, and enjoy the spirit of Christmas.
